Turbidity

Turbidity, a measure of the optical clarity of a liquid, can be used to indicate changes within a process stream. Typically, turbidity measurements involve taking samples from a process stream and testing them in a laboratory. Our PX2 photometric transmitter, when used in conjunction with either a flow cell or a transmission probe, eliminates the need for laboratory measurements and displays the turbidity, measured in AU, on the unit’s display screen. For low particle concentrations, we can equip you with a monitor to measure forward or 90⁰/side scatter. Higher particle concentrations will require a monitor that measures light backscatter.
