Protein Monitoring

In applications where protein monitoring is necessary, the absorbance at a specific wavelength can be used to determine the concentration of a protein sample. Our PX2 photometric transmitter, when used in conjunction with an external flow cell, measures the absorbance of a protein sample, typically at 280nm. The absorbance measurement, which is displayed in AU, exhibits a positive, linear correlation to the concentration of protein in a sample. For detection of low concentrations of protein, fluorescence monitoring offers greater measurement sensitivity.  Other fluorescence-based applications include: column fouling of biopharmaceutical process chromatographic resins, protein folding binding and lyophilization detection, and content uniformity and solvatomorph determination. Customizable wavelengths available.
